We’re the Corne/Duthie clan – Lucy, Shawn and Kai. We do not claim to be a particularly photogenic bunch…
Shawn and I met while on an overland trip through Africa and spent the next five years travelling. We settled in South Africa in 2010 and three years later, Kai arrived (named for the Egyptian capital in which we met). We were determined not to give up the backpacks just because travelling with kids is a bit of a headache.
And while yes, it is hard work, it’s also immensely rewarding – often much more so than travelling with grown-ups alone. Kai has inspired us to appreciate the little things when we travel. He’s inspired me to finally start this blog. And his way of being wowed by pretty much everything inspired the name of this blog. May we all be able to see the world in the wide-eyed way that kids manage to.
